Back of House taps into the global craving for food and travel based television in a way that is unique by observing the kitchen through the eye of the artist.
Through gaining access to the 'back of house', award winning artist Jeff Martin provides his audience with a rare glimpse into the heart and soul of the world's best restaurants and into the minds of the celebrated chefs that create them.
Jeff captures the intensity, the beauty and the movement of the kitchen in a series of sketches. Back in the studio he then transforms these sketches into paintings.
He also captures his colourful journey to the country and region that hosts each restaurant, combining the elements of travel, art, culture and food as experienced through his flamboyant and artistic style.
After sharing this intimate view of the top kitchens in action he then sits with the chef an artist himself and discovers the link for the chef between food and pleasure and what
drives his passion to continue to create and amaze the eating audience.
Featured Restaurants include:
Noma (Denmark)
Le Chateaubriand (Paris)
Bras Relais & Chateauxi (France)

Who's Good? Who's Bad? The Choice is Yours!
GCBC stars Adrian Richardson (Boys Weekend, Secret Meat Business) and Janella Purcell (What's Good for You) and pits their very different cooking styles and philosophies against each other…
So who’s the Good Chef?
Well, both Adrian and Janella are, of course, very good at what they do. But is it the healthy "food as medicine" dishes and advice offered by Janella; or Adrian's take on
full-flavoured full-fat cooking that most appeals to you?
Both chefs know that it's really about moderation in all things, but this doesn't change their strong opinions and commitment to the way they do their food. |
